Decide Who You Are

I hope that everyone is well. I was at the gym today and I was listening to some pretty amazing #podcasts. I have been listening to them for some time now. I love going to the gym in the mornings and listening to #motivational speakers getting inspired for the day. I listen to them on podcasts and #Youtube. It was about who you think you are is what determines who you are. I had heard this before but somehow this morning it soaked in.

You can change your life and the quality of life by knowing who you are. That sounds very simple doesn't it? I see people who fail when trying to quit smoking cigarettes. They say they are a smoker but I will try to stop. I did the same thing for a long time and couldn't quit. I could only quit when I decided that I was a non-smoker. Being a smoker didn't fit in with the plan I had made for my life. Most successful people do not smoke. I wanted to be successful more than I wanted to be a smoker. You must create a standard for yourself. You will do whatever it takes to maintain that identity and your brain will always try to stay there.

Another thing I hear people say is that I want to try to lose weight. Trying won't make that happen. When you say I will try that means that it could happen but it probably won't. I will be happy if it happens or if it doesn't I won't be surprised. I have tried everything. If you had tried everything you would have found a solution. You must come up with a plan and change yourself. When I decided to lose weight and get in shape I pictured the end result and made changes in my life to make it happen. The reason for failure in this aspect is not taking action.

Something else people will say I don't have enough money to do the things I want. If you don't make changes in your life this won't change either. The difference between people who succeed and are financially secure and most people is that they don't wait for money to fall in their laps. They change the story of their lives. They figure out a way to get to their vision in their mind. You can create a vision of what you want and make changes in your life to achieve this.

  1. Create a strategy: Try to create a plan to achieve the end result. This means you must decide who you are and what you want the most in life. Decisions determine your destiny. One decision can change everything. Conditions aren't what determines your future. It is how you respond to those conditions.

  2. Change your focus: What you focus on changes everything. Whatever you focus on is what will determine how you feel. Do you focus on what you can control? Depressed people focus on what they can't control. If you focus on what you have and what you are grateful and what you can control you will be amazed at how much your life will change. Do you focus on the future, the present, or passed. A great business person spends time focusing on future and present. You can't keep focusing on the past if you want your life to change.

  3. Decide what to do. Do you quit or move forward? Do I enroll in that course? Your decisions are really created by the emotions you are feeling and what you are thinking about. Human beings really are responsible for whether or not they succeed. Most don't want to sacrifice in order to achieve those dreams.
